Medical Office Administration
The Medical Office Administration graduate diploma program is designed to make professionals who can efficiently handle all the medical office errands. This program emphasizes medical office procedures, clinical/medical terminology, human anatomy, OHIP billing, medical transcription, use of computerized health application software, computer skills required for office administration, interpersonal and communication skills.
Medical Office Administration graduates are competitively qualified to work as Medical Office Administrator, Medical secretary, Doctor's Office Administrator, Medical Transcriptionist, Medical Office Assistant, Front Office Administrator. Students are required to successfully complete 180 hours of co-op work experience to obtain a diploma in Medical Office Administration. A hands-on practical experience is imparted in the co-op through performing daily activities in a medical office environment including registration of patients, scheduling of appointments, OHIP billing, maintenance of inventory and ordering supplies for medical and office administration, filling, answering telephone calls, and maintenance of patient’s records. NACPT pharmaceutical faculty members are recognized experts. Our curriculum engages the students in experiential learning through intensive training, industrial workshops, guest speaker’s sessions, project work to foster their growth in the Medical Office Administration sector.
