ESL: Advanced Level

 

English as a Second Language (ESL) International program Level 5, Prerequisite program enrolling into an academic vocational diploma program

Duration – 8 Weeks

Mode of Delivery: In person

ESL -Level 5 is the prerequisite program to enroll into any academic program for temporary residence students in Canada. Integrate intermediate grammar to advanced level of speaking, writing, listening and written communication.

 

ESL: Intermediate and Advanced Level

 

English as a Second Language (ESL) International program – Level 4 and 5 (12 Weeks)

Duration – 12 Weeks

Mode of Delivery: In person

ESL -level 4 and 5 is a suitable language program for foreign students. Integrate basic grammar to intermediate and advanced level of speaking, writing, listening and written communication.

ESL -level 3, 4 and 5 is a suitable language program for foreign students. Learn ESL in a comprehensive way from beginners’ level to advanced level of speaking, writing, listening and written communication.

ESL 111: Welcome to English: Initial Steps to Oral and Written Communication

Development of basic language knowledge (pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar). Identification and understanding of topic, facts, and the main and supporting ideas of oral and written texts. Practice in basic oral exchanges. Introduction to written communication.

 

ESL 112: Grammar at the Beginner Level

Introduction to and practice with the fundamental elements of the English verb system, question formation, adjectives, and pronouns and prepositions.

ESL 113: Grammar at the Intermediate Level

Integrate basic grammar to intermediate level of speaking, writing, listening and written communication.

Prerequisite: ESL 112 or a language test.

ESL 114: Improving Oral and Written Proficiency – Intermediate Level to Prepare for IELTS

Comprehension of varied written and oral texts. Development of note-taking skills. Written expression at the sentence and paragraph levels. Oral communication through guided conversation and short presentations. Further development of grammatical knowledge.

Prerequisite: ESL 111 or a language test.

ESL 115: Grammar at the Advanced Level

Integrate intermediate grammar to intermediate level of speaking, writing, listening and written communication.

Prerequisite: ESL 113 or a language test.

ESL 116: Academic Development in English as a Second Language – Advanced Level

Building on previously acquired skills to help students understand longer listening and reading passages with different patterns of organization. In speaking and writing, classes introduce students to the academic requirements of: oral presentations, and paragraphs using various organizational patterns.

Prerequisite: ESL 114 or a language test.

 ESL 117 Adjunct Language Course in ESL: Receptive Skills

Adjunct language course to a 3-unit discipline-specific course, taken in English by non-native speakers of English. Emphasis on development of comprehension skills (listening and reading) while acquiring knowledge and expertise in the discipline.

Prerequisite: ESL 116 or a language test.
